At a press conference, Russian state media ask about the latest Ukrainian attacks, in which at least two people were killed in the city of Voronezh. They wonder what consequences this will have for the negotiations.
The decision to resume trilateral talks does not imply any restrictions on military action, said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president.
A short local ceasefire has been announced in occupied Oleshky in southern Ukraine. Asked whether there could be more such ceasefires, Peskov replied that they could be agreed for “humanitarian reasons.”
The idea is that new, more direct talks between the warring parties will take place in November, with the United States at the table.
