The Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation is exemplary, Putin said in a video call with Chinese President Xi Jinping broadcast by Russian state television.
Xi Jinping also said he advocates "deeper strategic coordination," according to Chinese state television channel CCTV.
Putin addressed Xi as a "dear friend" in the call. He also praised the countries' trade relations, with Moscow redirecting exports to Asia after Western sanctions over Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. The Russian president did not mention Ukraine during the call.
