This is what the Russian president says at a press conference in Beijing where he is attending a summit with several world leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping and North Korea's dictator Kim Jong-Un, reports Reuters.
But is there any point in meeting him? the president asks rhetorically and adds that he is only ready to meet if Zelenskyj is "well prepared", and that the war can be ended if "sound judgment" is taken into account.
Putin also repeats that Ukraine must not become a member of Nato and claims that Russia is not after territories with its war of attack against the neighboring country, but "fighting for the people's rights".
At the same time, Putin also says that Russia is advancing on all fronts in Ukraine and that the conflict will continue with military means if a peace agreement is not reached.
Volodymyr Zelenskyj has previously said that a meeting with Putin is possible only when Ukraine has received concrete security guarantees.
