Russia's president Vladimir Putin has met North Korea's foreign minister Choe Son-Hui in Moscow, reports AFP. In a video that the headquarters of power Kreml has published after the meeting, Putin says that "everything is going according to plan".

Choe began the Monday by meeting his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, to then meet President Vladimir Putin.

Details from the Putin meeting have not been made public, but the two countries have recently deepened their military and economic relations with each other.

Russian and North Korean representatives have also increasingly been seen together in various political contexts, including in September this year when China celebrated the eightieth anniversary of the end of World War II.

Putin and North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un signed a mutual defense agreement last year, at the same time as Pyongyang sent thousands of soldiers to fight for Russia in its war of aggression in Ukraine.
