"By a decision of Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a ceasefire is declared in connection with the Orthodox Easter celebrations from 4:00 p.m. (local time in Russia) on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12," the statement said.
Putin announced a similar initiative at Easter last year. However, according to Ukraine, Russian forces violated that ceasefire thousands of times.
