Russia's President Vladimir Putin congratulates hockey star Alexander Ovetjkin on his new goal record in NHL. Ovetjkin scored his 895th NHL goal on Sunday evening and thereby became the league's top scorer of all time.
"This achievement is not only a personal success for you, but also something for fans in both Russia and abroad to celebrate", says Putin in a statement, according to the Russian power center Kremlin.
Alexander Ovetjkin has a personal relationship with Putin and the hockey star's profile picture on X and Instagram is an image where he is together with Russia's President.
