Russia's president Vladimir Putin has no plans to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future, according to the Kremlin's high command.

Thus, speculation about an impending meeting between Putin and US President Donald Trump is dismissed, who on Monday said he would visit Saudi Arabia as early as next month.

This is solely the American head of state's plan, which is in no way related to Putin, says Kremlin spokesperson Dmitrij Peskov.

He also says that there is no concrete date or place for a "possible meeting" between the Russian and American presidents.

Since Trump became president again, he and Putin have had two known phone calls, but have not met physically. Delegations from both countries have, however, had talks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, regarding Russia's offensive war against Ukraine.
