The fire that raged in an apartment building in Borlänge during Wednesday morning is partially under control, according to the rescue service for P4 Dalarna.

A VMA, important message to the public, which warned of heavy smoke was issued in Tjärna Ängar in the municipality in connection with the fire, but was terminated during the morning.

It is still burning in the building's roof structure and the rescue service is on site, but the risk of spread has decreased.

The alarm about the fire came in just before 6 o'clock on Wednesday morning. The residents of the house have been evacuated.

They have emptied the entire house as I understand, but how many there are I do not know, says the police's press spokesperson Anders Dahlman.

According to P4 Dalarna about 40 people have been evacuated, but no one is said to be injured. The fire is said to have started in an apartment and then spread to the roof structure, the rescue service tells the radio.

We will of course look further into the reason for the fire. Some form of preliminary investigation will be initiated, or has been initiated, but the classification is a bit unclear for now, says Anders Dahlman.
