The French top team showed masterful performances directly in front of over 80,000 spectators at Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. The team took the lead in the 19th minute via Fabián Ruiz and expanded just before the break through Vitinha.

PSG, which recently crushed Inter with 5-0 in the Champions League final, showed no signs of the form decreasing.

We want to make history in this tournament. This was an important first step, said PSG coach Luis Enrique after the match.

Atlético Madrid received a total of seven warnings during the tough afternoon, and was forced to finish the match with ten men after a red card on Clément Lenglet. The team also had a reducing goal disqualified after VAR review.

PSG has now created a dream situation in group B, where also Brazilian Botafogo and American Seattle Sounders are included.
