The rape allegedly took place in February 2023, when the woman was paid to come to Hakimi's house while his then-wife and children were away.
The woman stated after the meeting that she was raped, but did not file a formal police report. The prosecutor's office nevertheless opened a preliminary investigation, and on Tuesday, an investigating judge decided to press charges against the 27-year-old defender, French media reported.
Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, saying they did not have sex and that it was only mutual embraces and consensual kisses.
"It's unfair, but I'm taking this trial in stride. The truth will come out," Hakimi wrote on social media after Tuesday's announcement.
Hakimi has played for PSG since 2021, and was part of the team that won the club's first Champions League title last year. The right-back also captained Morocco when they became the first Arab country to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
