A clip shared by the Fars news agency, controlled by Iran's Revolutionary Guard, shows dozens of protesters gathered in front of a foreign ministry building in the city of Mashhad, chanting "Death to the shameful Araghchi, the infiltrator" and waving flags.
AFP has also seen videos on social media showing similar scenes in Tehran. In the videos, protesters shout "Resign, Araghchi" and "Resign, Ghalibaf." However, the news agency notes that it is not possible to verify the authenticity of the posts.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is the speaker of parliament and has played a leading role in contacts with the United States.
