Nine victims are involved in the investigation and the request for detention and prosecution comes after prosecutors in the Paris suburb of Nanterre questioned Bruel, AFP reports. The alleged crimes occurred between 2010 and 2019.
67-year-old Patrick Bruel denies all the allegations.
Shortly before his arrest, he canceled several major concerts in Paris.
Earlier this year, eight women accused him in the newspaper Mediapart.
