The prosecutor has requested that Bruel continue to be detained.
Nine victims are involved in the investigation, and the request for indictment came after investigators questioned Bruel. The crimes allegedly occurred between 2010 and 2019.
An additional 13 people are said to have filed reports of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment against Bruel between 1992 and 2008. However, these crimes may be time-barred, according to the prosecutor's press release, France24 reports.
67-year-old Patrick Bruel denies all crimes.
Shortly before his arrest, Bruel canceled several concerts in Paris.
Earlier this year, eight women made accusations against him in the newspaper Mediapart.
