Diego Maradona died in November 2020 at the age of 60. Family members have questioned the circumstances surrounding the Argentine icon's death, and seven members of the medical team - including Maradona's doctors, psychiatrists and nurses - have been accused of providing inadequate care, despite their denials.
On Thursday, prosecutors began their closing arguments, arguing that Maradona had been left to his fate by a "chaotic" medical team.
Maradona was being cared for at home after brain surgery for a blood clot. He died of heart failure and acute pulmonary edema, in which fluid accumulates in the lungs, two weeks after the surgery.
Closing arguments are expected to last about two weeks, and a verdict is expected at a later date.
