The two prosecutors, Angjerd Kvernenes and Ellen Mellemstrand Gimre, believe that the suspected abuse of Jakob Ingebrigtsen took place over a period, and that she was subjected to it for four years.
What has emerged during the proceedings is sufficient to sentence Gjert Ingebrigtsen to two years and six months in prison, say the prosecutors.
It usually takes a lot for child abuse not to be punished with unconditional imprisonment, said Ellen Mellemstrand Gimre during Tuesday's pleading.
Kvernenes handled the part of the prosecution concerning Jakob Ingebrigtsen, while Mellemstrand Gimre handled the part concerning the defendant's daughter.
Angjerd Kvernenes says that the victims grew up in a home marked by fear and uncertainty.
We are of the clear opinion that the objective and subjective conditions for a guilty verdict exist. He was the father, he was the adult, there is no doubt that the actions were conscious, and that they should be considered intentional, concluded Kvernenes.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen denies the crime.
The trial ends on May 15.
