"I plan to press charges tomorrow at eleven o'clock," said district prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist to Expressen.
According to both Expressen and TV4, the crime classification has been changed, but this is not confirmed by the prosecutor, who said he did not want to preempt the prosecution.
In connection with the May 2025 arrest, media reported that the Foreign Ministry employee was being investigated alongside a representative of a foreign political movement. But that connection has also been dropped, Expressen and TV4 report.
The suspect denies the crime.
