The prosecutor is seeking twelve years in prison for the man who appealed his rape conviction in the Gisèle Pelicot case.

The appealing man was originally sentenced to nine years in prison, but the sentence had not yet come into force.

Now the prosecutor wants to see the sentence tightened to twelve years, reports AFP.

The 50-year-old is the only one of the 51 men who have been sentenced for the rape of Gisèle Pelicot who has appealed his verdict.

The abuse of Pelicot went on for ten years and was staged by her husband, who drugged his wife and invited strange men to rape her.
