At the time of the shooting at the sports facility in Älvsjö on Friday evening, floorball and football matches were being played nearby, with many people present. On Saturday evening, it was announced that the woman who was shot had died from her injuries.

The investigation is now trying to establish what was behind the shooting.

The short answer is that we don't know what the motive is, but we have some leads that we are looking at. But we haven't got far enough in the investigation to determine a motive," Tigerstrand tells TT.

“A completely ordinary woman”

Is there any known threat against this woman?

"I don't know that there was a threat. My impression so far is that she's a completely ordinary woman," he says.

Lee Orberson, district director of Hägersten-Älvsjö, said on Saturday that the woman was an employee in the municipality's youth activities.

Two men in their late teens have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They are suspected of having committed this crime together, says Tigerstrand.

Arrested in Flemingsberg

According to the prosecutor, the suspects were arrested in Flemingsberg, south of Stockholm, at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both deny any wrongdoing.

"They are not residents of Stockholm. As far as we have been able to see so far, they do not seem to know the plaintiff," says Tigerstrand.

No additional people have been detained, but the prosecutor does not rule out that more people may be involved.

We are investigating whether there could be more. Often, in similar incidents, we have concluded that more people were involved than just the person who committed the crime.

The prosecutor must decide by noon on Tuesday whether to request that the suspects be remanded in custody.
