The murdered man, who was in his mid-20s, was reported missing in January. The police and prosecutor have not wanted to confirm his identity until relatives were informed. Since family members live abroad, it has taken time, prosecutor Emma Olsson is quoted as saying by Barometern.

The murder suspect is also suspected of gross desecration of a grave, gross fraud, unauthorized use of identity and forgery of documents. Also these crimes are believed to have been committed against the man who was murdered.

The prosecutor does not want to go into whether there are suspected economic motives behind the murder, but only says that several different motives are being investigated. According to media reports, remains of the murdered man have been found in a freezer, but the prosecutor does not want to comment on the background to why the man is suspected of gross desecration of a grave.

The suspect denies the crime.
