Høiby was sentenced to four years in prison by the Oslo District Court on June 15. He was found guilty of, among other things, two rapes and physical and psychological violence against a former girlfriend. At the same time, he was acquitted of two other rape charges.
Now, prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø has chosen to appeal the sentence, but has not appealed some of Høiby's acquittals. According to a press release, the decision was made in consultation with the lawyers of the women involved and taking into account the "burden on the victims."
In the district court, the prosecutor had sought a sentence of seven years and seven months in prison for Høiby.
The case is expected to be heard in the Court of Appeal next year.
