On Tuesday, seven fake videos were published on X from as many accounts within an hour.
The fake posts appear to come from Swedish and foreign media outlets such as SVT, DN and Der Spiegel and are about false corruption allegations and lies about the Swedish election. They can be linked to the pro-Russian influence campaign “Matryoshka” (named after a Russian wooden doll), according to Antibot4navalny, a Russian opposition analysis group.
"We see this kind of thing all over Europe. The Russians are targeting countries that support Ukraine," Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) told SVT.
