The organisation Friedensbrücke claims to collect support and money for aid efforts for the war victims in the Russia-occupied part of Donbass in eastern Ukraine.
According to Germany's federal prosecutor's office, donations to the organisation have gone to the two so-called people's republics that Russia has allowed to be established on occupied territory in Donetsk and Luhansk. The German prosecutors classify these as terrorist organisations.
Two people from the organisation have been issued with arrest warrants in their absence, according to German media reports, as both are currently in Russia. One of them, who is identified as a leading figure, has long been agitating against European support for Ukraine's defence.
