It should even be possible to seize companies using such an expanded seizure rule, said special investigator Johan Danelius at a press conference attended by Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M).
Trademarks and domain names are also mentioned as possible subjects of seizure.
The investigation proposes, as ordered by the government, that a person whose property is confiscated must prove it was not obtained through criminal activity. However, the special investigator believes that such a measure, with a so-called reverse burden of proof, is not necessary, as the standard of proof for the prosecutor is “rather low”.
