The plan called "Sky shield" has been developed by a group of military experts, writes The Guardian. The purpose is to protect Ukraine from Russian attacks, without necessarily risking an expanded conflict with Russia.
The operation would stand separate from the defense alliance Nato and primarily cover Kyiv and western Ukraine, as well as the country's three nuclear power plants – but not the front in eastern Ukraine.
According to The Guardian, "Sky shield" could potentially be included in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal for a swift ceasefire in the air and at sea.
