A former professor at Umeå University has donated 34 million kronor to the university's department of mathematics and mathematical statistics.
The generous gift comes from Lennart Bondesson, who passed away last summer, reports SVT Västerbotten. The university will now establish a new foundation in Bondesson's name.
Umeå University has received an unusually large number of donations this year, several of which are in the millions.
One sees research as important and wants to provide support, says Per Ragnarsson, Assistant University Director, to SVT.
