Producer prices rose by 1.3 percent in May compared with April. On an annual basis, the increase was 6.6 percent. In April, the annual growth rate was 4.7 percent, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).
"The biggest driving force behind the price increase in the domestic market in May was high electricity prices," says Maria Bäckström, price statistician at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.
Price increases at the producer level signal upcoming price changes for consumers.
