In March, a man in his 60s was charged with using threats and violence to force his wife to sell sexual services to over 120 men. In April, the woman paid 24,000 kronor in taxes on the income linked to those sex purchases.
The Swedish Tax Agency initially assessed that the money came from sexual services carried out as a hobby, while the woman said she had been forced by her husband.
The man was sentenced in mid-June by the district court to four years and five months in prison for aggravated procuring, one count of attempted rape, two counts of assault, six counts of unlawful threats and a minor doping offense.
