The disruptions at Nets, a provider of payment solutions for various credit and debit cards, began shortly after 9 a.m. Since then, some payments have not been processed normally, reported SVT Nyheter.
"A special incident group has been appointed and is working with the highest priority to identify the cause and restore normal operations as soon as possible," wrote Nets' press manager Peter Glüsing to SVT.
The disruptions have also affected Nets' customers in other countries, such as Denmark and Norway.
According to the site Downdetector, technical problems have been reported at several banks.
