Panahi faces another prison sentence and a travel ban after an Iranian court upheld a verdict finding him guilty of "propaganda against the regime."
The court upheld an earlier decision, made in Panahi's absence when he traveled outside Iran with his Palme d'Or-winning and Oscar-nominated film "It Was Just an Accident."
Panahi, whose films are banned in Iran, now has 20 days to appeal the decision, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Panahi has previously served a prison sentence at the infamous Evin Prison in Tehran after being convicted of "propaganda against the regime."
