A prison guard has died after setting fire to himself outside the Tidaholm prison. The man had recently been the subject of an internal investigation at his workplace, writes Expressen.
SOS Alarm received an alarm about an incident outside the prison just before 19:00 on Monday. The man died on Tuesday from his injuries.
”We can unfortunately confirm that at 13:00 today our colleague died at the university hospital in Linköping due to his serious injuries. We are sad and shocked by what has happened and our thoughts go to our colleague's family, relatives and friends”, says the acting prison warden at Tidaholm prison, Björn Wäring, in a press release that Expressen has taken part of.
