The men filled home electronics to a value of half a million kronor in specially prepared cash registers and could thus leave the stores without the alarm bells sounding.
Now the trio is sentenced to prison for the theft tour throughout southern Sweden, reports SVT Uppsala.
The thieves struck in a total of 16 stores in Eslöv, Kristianstad, Landskrona, Falkenberg, Skövde, Lidköping, Örebro, Motala, Jönköping, Södertälje, Järfälla, Uppsala, Värmdö, Huddinge, Borås, and Skene.
The same method was used at all locations. In the end, they were stopped by a store guard in Skövde. During a house search, the police found lists of items the men were supposed to have stolen to sell abroad.
Now the leader is sentenced to three years in prison, the other two to 2.5 years in prison.
