"It's a part of me as a person and of my family," she says in an interview on the Danish TV2 program "Insider," as quoted by VG.
According to a survey by Norwegian TV2, eight out of ten Norwegians believe that the king should strip his daughter of her title.
However, the princess says that she mainly meets Norwegians who are friendly towards her and do not share her views.
"Of course there are people who disagree with us, but why should I focus on them?" she says.
Her husband Durek Verrett supports Märtha Louise, but emphasizes that the title means nothing to him.
"I didn't marry her because of her title. It wouldn't have made any difference to me," he told the channel.
In 2019, it was announced that Princess Märtha Louise would no longer use her princess title in commercial contexts, an agreement that she was later accused of repeatedly violating.
