Princess Birgitta Laid to Rest in Haga Park

Princess Birgitta was buried on Sunday at a funeral ceremony in Drottningholm Church. She was laid to rest at the royal burial ground in Haga Park in Stockholm, according to her own wish.

Princess Birgitta passed away on December 4 on Mallorca, where she had lived since the mid-1990s. The Princess, who was one of the King's older sisters, leaves behind three children with families. Her husband, Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern, passed away in 2016.

No media was invited to the funeral. It was held within the circle of family and specially invited guests, according to the Princess's wish.

Princess Birgitta was 87 years old.
