Six years after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their roles in the British royal family and moved to the United States, they returned in late summer.

Harry has not met his father or his older brother since then, but told

magazine that "I really want it to work out."

With everything else going on in the world, the most important thing is to reunite. That's the main thing.

But his extended hand was not received with great warmth. Harry said in the previous sentence that “some people don’t want it to work out.”

A spokesperson for the couple told The Times that the comment was "absolutely" not directed at anyone in the royal family, but was a generalization.

However, the newspaper notes that the interview was published on the same day that the king, the crown prince and other senior members of the royal family received the Sultan of Oman - a state visit Harry is not allowed to take part in.

King Charles has said that the couple are not working members of the royal family and will not have any official duties or be able to use the titles His or Her Royal Highness.

The couple will also not celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family.

According to British media, Harry has not spoken to his brother William in four years. But he remains optimistic about a reunion.

"Of course," he told GQ.

"I think our attitudes have changed. What happened then was then. Some battles had to be fought, but hopefully we can draw a line under that," he said.
