Prince Harry and six others appeal ruling in Daily Mail privacy case

Prince Harry and several other well-known figures are appealing the ruling this summer that went against them in their case against the owners of the Daily Mail, ordering them to pay millions.

A group of seven celebrities sued ANL, which publishes the Daily Mail, for hiring private detectives and tapping mobile phones to spy on their private lives.

But in July, the High Court in London dismissed the lawsuit, citing a lack of evidence, and ordered the celebrities to pay ANL £9.5 million.

A spokesperson for the group said the prince and the others - Elton John, Liz Hurley, David Furnish, Sadie Frost, Simon Hughes and Doreen Lawrence, an anti-racism activist whose son was murdered in south London in 1993 - are now appealing the ruling, Sky News reports.
