Sweden took the World Championship gold in the women's relay after Jonna Sundling's giant catch-up against Norway on the final stretch.
In the evening, Emma Ribom, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, and Sundling stepped up onto the stage at Medal Plaza to receive their gold medals.
Part of the Swedish royal family was in attendance and praised the achievement.
What an achievement! It was really enjoyable, says Prince Daniel, who together with Princess Estelle and Crown Princess Victoria had made their way to Trondheim.
At the final exchange, Sweden was over 37 seconds behind leading Norway when Sundling began chasing Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs.
The Swede was able to quickly close the gap, then take the lead and ultimately win.
It was incredible, what drama, says Prince Daniel.
The gold was the Swedish women's fifth in this year's World Championship. The final medal opportunity is on Sunday with the concluding 50km event.
