The technology is used to adjust the actors' lip movements so they better match the dialogue in the language the series or film is dubbed into, writes SVT Kultur .

A combination of AI and visual effects is used when viewers choose English dubbing for the first two seasons of the German drama series “Maxton Hall,” which is the first to use the new technology.

Prime Video is the first of the major streaming services to use the technology. However, the actual dubbing is done by human voice actors. AI is only used to match the lips to the dialogue.

YouTube and Meta also use similar technology in social media.
