Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) has met the German election winner Friedrich Merz in Berlin, he writes on X.
"We discussed strengthened competitiveness, the EU's priorities and support to Ukraine. Look forward to cooperating with the new German government", Kristersson writes in the post.
Kristersson went directly to Berlin from Rome, where he arrived on Wednesday for a meeting with Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Friedrich Merz is the party leader of the Christian Democratic CDU and is likely to become Germany's next Chancellor.
