District heating giant Stockholm Exergi made an operating profit of just over one billion kronor for the first half of the year, which can be compared to the profit of almost 400 million kronor for the same period last year.
Revenues increased by over 100 million kronor to nearly 4.9 billion kronor, despite the fact that energy sales fell sharply, from 5,215 GWH (gigawatt hours) to 4,804 GWH. The decline in sales is mainly due to the fact that the weather was warmer than the year before.
Price increases and an improved situation on the fuel market are partial explanations for the profit increase, according to the company's half-year report.
