Boxing Day, or simply “Boxing Day” in England, is traditionally filled with football matches. In recent seasons in the Premier League, at least five matches have been played on Boxing Day. In 2024, there were a total of eight matches.

But last year, the league organisers changed the schedule and only one match was played, Manchester United against Newcastle. It was a decision that drew strong criticism from supporters.

Therefore, this year they are going back to the original arrangement and announcing in a press release that no fewer than seven Premier League matches will be played on Boxing Day.

13.30: Aston Villa–Leeds

16.00: Everton–Sunderland

16.00: Fulham–Brighton

16.00: Ipswich–Brentford

16.00: Tottenham-Bournemouth

18.30: Hull–Liverpool

21.00: Newcastle-Manchester City
