A woman died and her two teenage daughters were injured in an attack on December 25. After lunging at them with a knife, the perpetrator was shot dead by police.
On Friday, police announced that the preliminary investigation would be closed. The reason is that the suspected perpetrator is dead, and that the case will therefore not lead to prosecution.
The police have analyzed the phones of those involved, held several interviews, and conducted a crime scene investigation.
According to the investigation, there was no previous connection between the perpetrator and the victims. No motive has been identified. The man had no history of violent crimes, but had a documented mental illness in recent years.
