Sunna was reported to the police earlier this year by the Swedish Tornedalingers' National Association - Tornionlaaksolaiset (STR-T) for incitement against ethnic groups, hate crimes and defamation.
One of his works depicted the association's director Eva Kvist, and other people who have been significant to minority culture, along with, among other things, a dismembered reindeer, a chainsaw and a bucket filled with blood.
Anders Sunna has previously emphasized to SR that he also has a Tornedalian background and that the exhibition is about power structures between different interests.
Sunna is known for his political art. Three of his works were recently sold to the British Tate museums as part of a focus on indigenous art.
