A car collided with a passenger train from Västtrafik at an unguarded railway crossing. The alarm came in just before 2:30 pm and according to the rescue service, it was a powerful collision where one person was injured.
At 5:15 pm, the police reported that the injured person, a 65-year-old man, had died from his injuries. The man was the driver of the car, which was a taxi. There were no passengers in the car.
The passengers on board the train were evacuated and left the site by buses.
"The Swedish Transport Administration is on site to repair the lines and there is currently no prognosis for how long the work will take," the police wrote on their website.
The car has been towed away from the site.
