The Russian-occupied part of the Ukrainian region of Zaporizhzhia is without power, claims the Russian-installed governor Yevgeniy Balitskij, reports the Russian-language BBC.
According to Balitskij, the power outage is due to "shelling from the Ukrainian defense forces" and damage to high-voltage equipment.
The Ukrainian news agency RBC Ukraine writes on Telegram that a transformer station in the occupied city of Melitopol has been attacked, resulting in the power outage.
At the same time, the Russian-installed governor in the occupied parts of the Kherson region reports that over 100,000 residents in 150 smaller towns are without power after Ukrainian attacks.
Ukraine has not commented on the Russian claims.
