“Repair work continues in the Dnipropetrovsk region to restore heat and water supply to over a million subscribers,” Oleksiy Kuleba, the minister responsible for Ukraine’s reconstruction, wrote on social media.
The Zaporizhzhia region has also been hit by widespread power outages, according to the state-owned Ukrenergo, which is responsible for the country's main grid.
During the night, Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly 100 drones, according to the country's air defenses. Of 97 drones, around 70 were shot down, the RBC news agency reports.
The night's attacks were mainly directed at Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia. Last week, 3,000 children and their parents were evacuated from 44 towns and villages in the two regions.
Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine's energy and rail infrastructure, in what Kyiv says is a strategy aimed at exhausting the civilian population.
