Starfelt injured the back of his thigh during Friday night's Nations League match against Bosnia-Herzegovina and was forced to leave the field.
On Saturday morning, the national team management announced that Carl Starfelt was forced to leave the squad and that Victor Eriksson, normally a centre-back at Hammarby, would replace him and join the national team squad in Bucharest ahead of the match against Romania on Monday.
In total, 11 players have now left the current international window due to injury or illness. The centre-back position is particularly vulnerable, with Graham Potter now having only three players available: Victor Nilsson Lindelöf, Eric Smith and Victor Eriksson.
