Norway at Ullevål will be the first of the national team's two matches before the World Cup.

For Sweden, the Nordic derby is mainly about preparing the players for the championship in the best possible way. It is not about putting a presumed World Cup starting eleven against Tunisia on the field on Monday night.

"We want to build on what we've been training on. Use the players well. We've had a good week. Now we get a good opportunity to test what we've been working on," says national team captain Graham Potter.

In Lindelöf's absence, Isak Hien steps in as team captain.

He (Lindelöf) has had a lot of games in May, and we have to use the time and the games to prepare everyone in the best way.

Potter says his regular team captain could be involved in the match in one way or another, just like many others.

Among them Alexander Isak.

We are building minutes tomorrow and on Thursday (Greece at the national stadium). He will not play 90 minutes, but will participate.

Careful with trio

Potter is otherwise not interested in revealing what the starting eleven looks like. He goes so far as to reveal that three players who joined the World Cup camp with injury problems are not quite ready to play a full match.

We have made progress with many, but we will be careful with Gabriel Gudmundsson, Elliot Stroud and Carl Starfelt, he says.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt played against both Ukraine and Poland in the playoffs, but Potter would not say whether a starting goalkeeper has already been named. What suggests that Nordfeldt will be rested against Norway is that both Jacob Widell Zetterström and Viktor Johansson need playing time.

When asked if all three will get playing time before the World Cup, Potter replies:

Maybe, maybe not.

Emil Holm had to leave the World Cup squad this weekend due to injury.

"A tough decision for us and for him. One of those conversations you don't want to have. I feel for him and the dream of the World Cup that was shattered," says Potter.

Herman Johansson takes Holm's place. Sebastian Nanasi was called in as a reserve.

Coming on Wednesday

It is also clear that Viktor Gyökeres will join the squad on Wednesday. Potter has not spoken to the striker since the bitter defeat in the Champions League final.

I've let him deal with the game and everything that's happened. Now he gets to be with Arsenal, celebrate the Premier League win and pack up. I'm looking forward to meeting him.

The match with Norway will be played on Monday at 7:00 PM.

The home game against Greece will be played on Thursday, and two days later the national team will travel to the World Cup base in Dallas. The opening match will be played against Tunisia on June 15 in Monterrey, Mexico.
