Dejan Kulusevski missed Sweden's World Cup qualifiers in the autumn. But national team captain Graham Potter believes the 25-year-old will be in the squad for the playoff against Ukraine. "I'm convinced he will be in," he tells TV4 Football Channel.

Swedish football player Dejan Kulusevski underwent surgery in May this year and has not played for club team Tottenham since then.

When the men's football team plays the decisive World Cup playoff against Ukraine on March 26, Potter believes the midfielder will be there.

"That's my feeling from talking to him and understanding where he is. I think that's the last part of the rehabilitation that he needs to go through," he says.

In September 2024 – under then-national coach Jon Dahl Tomasson – Kulusevski was named captain of the national team. Due to the injury, he has not been eligible under Graham Potter.

The playoff match against Ukraine will be played in Valencia, Spain, due to Russia's war of invasion of Ukraine.
