”It is gratifying to see how our improvement initiatives yield clear results, entirely in line with the plan. We have combined a focused cost work with continued investments in our customer offering – particularly in the package business, where the market continues to show attractive growth”, says CEO Annemarie Gardshol according to a press release.

During the second quarter last year, Postnord made a loss of 463 million kronor. And the adjusted operating result during the year's second quarter rose to 291 million, up from 205 million.

Package volumes increased by 11 percent during the quarter, while letter volumes plummeted by 18 percent.

Net sales during the quarter fell by 8 percent to 8.8 billion kronor.

During the year's first quarter, Postnord Denmark announced that the company will cease its letter operations from 2026.

”During the second quarter, we have initiated the work of adapting the organization to the new conditions”, writes Postnord in the press release.

”In Sweden, we are continuously adapting the operations, including price adjustments, to continue conducting a nationwide, self-financed and profitable letter operation”, adds Postnord.
