"Under the leadership of the Supreme Leader, we are continuing the process so that we can get past this 'neither war nor peace' situation," Pezeshkian said in a speech on Wednesday.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who leads Iran's delegation, described the negotiations on Tuesday as a "historic opportunity."

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening military strikes if the talks fail. In his State of the Union address, Trump reiterated his message of never allowing the world's leading sponsor of terrorism to have access to nuclear weapons.

Vice President JD Vance tells Fox News that Iran should take Trump's threat of a military attack "seriously."
