William Poromaa and Calle Halfvarsson are included in the team for the World Cup premiere. Thus, the cross-country skiing national team travels to Ruka with all its stars.

William Poromaa missed the dress rehearsal in Bruksvallarna due to a cold and Calle Halfvarsson stopped competing prematurely due to back problems.

But they are among the 21 blue-yellow skiers traveling to the World Cup premiere weekend in Finnish Ruka, where the competitions begin on Friday.

"We believe and hope that they will be fully ready over the weekend," says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

On the women's side, all the heavy names, such as Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson, are included in the Swedish team. And national team manager Byström is looking forward to the World Cup season getting underway.

"Several of our most established skiers showed high capacity at the premiere in Bruksvallarna. But we also saw skiers with less international experience who seem to have taken big steps during the dry-land training," he says.

The women and men have the same program in Ruka. On Friday, a classic 10 km with interval start awaits, on Saturday it's sprint, and on Sunday's program is a 20 km mass start in freestyle.

Women: Ebba Andersson, Maja Dahlqvist, Johanna Hagström, Moa Ilar, Frida Karlsson, Emma Ribom, Märta Rosenberg, Jonna Sundling, Linn Svahn.

Men: Edvin Anger, Jens Burman, Emil Danielsson, Johan Ekberg, Truls Gisselman, Marcus Grate, Calle Halfvarsson, Johan Häggström, Gustav Kvarnbrink, William Poromaa, Måns Skoglund, Oskar Svensson.
